Each discipline focuses on only one aspect, a lower aspect, of sexuality. He criticizes biological, sociological, psychological and sexological approaches to understanding sexuality as essentially shallow. "The term " metaphysics" in the title of this book needs to be defined, for it will be used here with two distinct meanings.
